Our past events and milestones

Since our founding in Ibadan, Nigeria, cycie2000 has been dedicated to promoting humanitarian services, fostering ethical leadership across vocations, and connecting diverse cultures. Over the years, countless participants and communities across West Africa and beyond have benefited from our transformative programs, youth peace campaigns, and international exchange forums.

Regional peace and cultural exchange initiatives

From the early years, cycie2000 has championed cross-border solidarity. In 2002, our Movement of youth for life in peace campaign organized educational sight-seeing and goodwill exchanges across Benin Republic, Ghana, Niger Republic, and Burkina Faso. That same year, we hosted a landmark seminar addressing the vital inclusion of West African women with disabilities in development programs. Over subsequent years, our international outreach extended further, including cultural delegations to China for major trade and arts expositions, the founding of Kabis Arts training center in Niger, and regional celebrations like the vibrant Esan Cultural Festival.

Civic peace campaigns and youth empowerment forums

We actively engage emerging leaders through grassroots civic action and educational dialogues. In addition to establishing university chapters, such as cycie2000 at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), our community observed Global Youth Service Day and led impactful International Day of Peace rallies. These included our 2006 Campaign for non-violent elections, the 2007 Photo snap for peace, and the 2008 community dialogue entitled "Reconciliation or retaliation: the way forward." These efforts culminated in sustained platforms including the Intercultural Exchange Program, the Student Exchange Forum, and our Youth Empowerment Program (YEP/SEF).
